How to Apply

2021 Federal Taxes are required for the 2022-2023 application. Filing your taxes early is recommended. Applications are available online March 1, 2022 through the Parent Login.

2022-2023 Eligibility Requirements

Income levels must be AT or WITHIN 200% of the Federal Poverty Levels issued by the Federal Government for 2021. This standard holds for the number of family members residing in the home of the parent or guardian applying for the scholarship. All members of the family who filed a 2021 – 1040 or received Income Assistance in 2021 must include their income in the income total of the applicant family.

Bridgeport Hope


  • Parent or Guardian applying for the scholarship must reside in Hartford, East Hartford, Bridgeport, New Haven or Waterbury.
  • Students must reside in Bridgeport, Hartford, East Hartford, New Haven or Waterbury and live in the home of the applicant parent or guardian.
  • Students may enter CEO between grades K-5.
  • Renewing students may be supported through grade 8.
  • Household income must be at or within 200% of the Federal Poverty Levels listed above.
  • Families may choose any accredited private or parochial school in Connecticut.
  • CEO will provide half of the annual tuition – up to a maximum of $2,100 per academic year.
  • Parents or Guardians are responsible for the balance of the annual tuition charged by the school of their choice.
  • Each September and January, the principal of each school must verify their CEO Scholars are in attendance and still qualify for continued enrollment at their school.
  • Once student verifications are received by CEO, scholarship checks will be sent directly to the school chosen in September and January.
  • Students’ families must re-apply to CEO each year.
  • CEO applications are available online at on March 1st each year.
  • Renewal students and their siblings receive first-priority for scholarship consideration.
  • All applications are considered on a first-come / first-served basis.



  • Online applications will be available on on 3/1/2022.
  • Login (returning CEO families) or register to create your account for new applicants. If you have applied before do not create a new account, use your previous email or contact CEO for assistance. You will need to create a new password.
  • Update your contact information and begin the application.
  • Upload copies of ALL HOUSEHOLD WAGE EARNERS’ 2021 IRS 1040 forms. Pages 1 & 2 ONLY.
  • If you did not file a 1040 form: You MUST provide a signed statement indicating that no one in your household filed a 2021 Form 1040. An explanation of the reason no filing was made MUST be included. Upload official evidence of unemployment, copies of DSS or Social Security Administration budget sheets or checks. PLEASE NOTE: W-2 and PAY STUBS are not accepted.

  • Applications not accompanied by the required proof of income and residence will not be processed until satisfactory documentation is provided.
  • Add renewal and/or new students to your parent application.
  • Completed applications will be considered on a FIRST-COME / FIRST-SERVED basis.

Scholarship awards are calculated at one-half of the actual annual tuition up to a maximum annual award of $2,100 per student. Awards are paid directly to the private school chosen by the parent/guardian.

I agree to the following terms and conditions in the event my child is awarded a scholarship by the CEO Foundation of Connecticut:

  1. I will promptly notify CEO Foundation of Connecticut of any changes in address
  2. I understand scholarship payments will continue only as long as my child is enrolled in and is attending an accredited private or parochial school
  3. I understand all scholarship awards are made at the sole discretion of the CEO Foundation of Connecticut.
  4. I understand preference is given to renewing scholars and siblings
  5. I agree to release the CEO Foundation of Connecticut from any liability in its efforts to provide a CEO scholarship
  6. I agree to authorize the school my child is attending to release a copy of the final report card and any achievement/measurement test scores for the 2022-2023 academic year to CEO.
  7. I understand that individual names and their grades or achievement scores WILL NOT BE RELEASED publicly. This information will be summarized and used to track the progress of CEO Scholars and for the purpose of advancement and development
